The afternoon classes are based on the system of creative workshops (botteghe): in these classes students are free to express their artistic ideas. The workshops reflect the "botteghe" of the Middle Ages, where teachers and pupils worked together in pursuit of a shared project.
They were introduced for the first time in 1983 and are now the Lab's distinctive feature.
During the workshops, students can employ their creativity in areas of particular interest to them. Young people who are now professional directors, actors, painters, radio and television journalists took their first steps during the Lab's workshops.
